On the eve of Ufa, elections were held for the chairman of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. They were held in the form of a meeting of the work collective of a scientific institution. Four candidates were included in the ballot paper: Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Oleg Loginov; Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Akhat Mustafin; Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Biochemistry and Genetics, UFIC RAS Alexei Nikolenko; Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Institute of History, Language and Literature UFIC RAS Aibul Psyanchin.
As the press secretary of the UFIC RAS Alim Akhmadeev told Bashinform agency, the elections were held in two rounds. Akhat Mustafin and Alexey Nikolenko entered the second round. According to the results of the second round, Akhat Mustafin was elected by the majority of votes to the position of the chairman of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Akhat Gazizyanovich Mustafin was born on January 21, 1957 in the village of Kulchurovo, Baymak District, Bashkir ASSR. In 1979 he graduated from the Bashkir State University.
After graduating from university from 1980 to 1985, he worked as a researcher at the Bashkir Agricultural Institute.
In 1985-1999 – Engineer, Junior, Senior, Leading Researcher, BFAN USSR (Institute of Organic Chemistry, UC RAS).
In 1999-2000 – Associate Professor, Professor of the Bashkir Agrarian University.
In 2000-2002 – Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Belarus on science, higher and secondary vocational education.
In 2002-2004 – Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
Since 2004 – Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
From January 2007 to the present he has been the Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry and Chemical Ecology of Bashkir State University.
In 2009, he was elected a full member (academician) of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus; in 2010, he was rector of the Bashkir State University.
Since 2013, he continues to head the Department of Physical Chemistry and Chemical Ecology, being the chief research officer of BashSU.
From 2018 to the present, Deputy Chairman for Research of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
